WHAT WE DO

We help you
fund your career

and protect your music rights.

StreamSounds helps you fund your career independently, by raising capital directly from your fans. As early investors, they get a share of royalties every time the music they have funded is being streamed.

OUR STORY

OUR STORY

When Tafika Nyirenda created StreamSounds, he was determined to bring change and help artists. As a fan of HipHop with a legal background, he always had a desire to be involved in the music industry. As he learned the music business, Tafika quickly noticed major issues impacting artists, including access to capital, IP ownership, and legal litteracy.

With low income or no access to financial backing, it can be extremely difficult for independent creators to sustain an unstable career and maintain a decent living. This often results in poor career choices with artists signing their rights away to major labels instead of releasing music independently.

OUR STORY

WHY WE EXIST

Unfortunately, and as we have seen with artists like Prince, Lil Wayne or Taylor Swift , the lack of access to capital often leads to bad deals and no ownership, which prevent artists to get a fair share of the value they create, and to take advantage of opportunities offered by new technologies.

To be fair, the lack of education and understanding of the music business is often the reason why artists fail to protect their intellectual property, and ultimately make a living from their talent.

As a response to these on going issues, Tafika quietly created StreamSounds, during the first wave of the pandemic lockdown in 2020.

OUR
MISSION

Our mission at StreamSounds is simple: We want to democratize access to capital and educate the next generation of creators to help them maintain full ownership of their intellectual property. As a new alternative to music funding, we want to help rebuild a more inclusive industry, and reduce the wealth gap between emerging and established artists.
